“Our oceans are turning into plastic, are we?” – Susan Casey

This work is a visual representation of the title of Susan Casey’s book. It’s my reaction to climate change and plastic pollution. By using plastic as a medium, the figure becomes increasingly consumed by it, merging with the material and becoming almost unrecognizable. This symbolizes how plastic pollution is so pervasive that it’s beginning to shape our very existence, leaving us almost indistinguishable from it.
