Invisible Connections
Interactive Installation, 2024
Invisible Connections shows the connection between nature and technology, but also our relationship with plants. For this project I used sensors that measure the biodata from the plant and transfer it into MIDI-data. I used TouchDesigner to create visuals that would represent the galvanic resistance of the plant. This way, the plant could control their own visuals and sounds. For the first time, I could visualize how a plant lives and talks, which gave me a deeper insight in the world of plants. The plant also reacted to human touch, which formed a direct interaction. This created a feeling of connection with these normally hidden processes. It changed my view about plants all around us, and my goal was to show others this perspective as well. For this project, I also made a book in Dutch.
